My name is Meghan Soens. I have a passion for new product development in healthcare (medical device, bitech, pharma) and proven ability to use sound marketing strategy to drive top-line growth for large organizations. I have an MBA from Kellogg, with a focus on Healthcare and Marketing. I am currently a Marketing Manager for Baxter Healthcare, and have many responsibilities of a traditional Product Manager, along with downstream marketing tactic execution, strategic marketing plan development, and business development. Although I am currently living in the Chicago area, I grew up in the Greater Boston Area. I decided to start this blog as a way to increase my exposure online, explore some professional development, and find a way to engage my husband in an intellectual fashion, where we could collaborate on a professional project.
My name is Pete Soens and I have designed and implemented health, welfare and retirement benefits for both small privately held corporations, and large international organizations. I have a passion for employee benefits, and am currently seeking the CEBS designation. I am currently the Benefits Manager for Standard Parking Corporation where I design, implement and administer employee health, welfare and retirement plans for 6500 benefit-eligible employees. I have managed 6 Open Enrollments, and have driven increases in employee participation. From a retirement benefit perspective, I am responsible for administering the qualified ($26MM assets) and non-qualified ($2.2MM plan liability) retirement plans, and serve on the investment committee as the employee advocate. Due to the nature of my role, I am also interested in healthcare reform, and have made it my responsibility to stay informed on the latest bill, and share the impacts of the reform with my organization.
Thank you all for allowing us to introduce ourselves. We look forward to sharing with you insights, perspectives, and latest news on healthcare innovation, and healthcare reform as it relates to employee benefit design.
